Chairman & CEO

Emil Malak is the largest single shareholder of Voip-Pal stock. He was a co-founder of Digifonica in 2003 and oversaw the development of the patents which were acquired by Voip-Pal in 2013. Mr. Malak also serves as Chairman of the Board for a biotech company currently conducting cancer research in Germany.

Jin Kuang
Chief Financial Officer

Jin Kuang has over 15 years of extensive professional expertise in various financial domains gained across the USA and Canada, including IFRS, US GAAP, financial reporting, financial planning, merger and acquisition, financial analysis, and tax. She has also spent over a decade in progressively responsible financial leadership roles within publicly traded companies. Over the years, Jin has served as CFO for multiple publicly listed companies, in addition to her years of auditing experience with KPMG LLP Chartered Accounts. Jin holds a BA in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Northeastern China, along with a US-CPA and CGA designation.

DENNIS CHANG
Director

Dennis Chang has strong managerial and entrepreneurial experience and has been an important part of VoIP-Pal’s leadership team since 2009. In 1988, Mr. Chang was included in the MicroTimes list of the 100 most influential people in the microcomputer industry. He was nominated as a finalist in 1989 for “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ernst & Young.

Kevin Williams is an experienced financial consultant with over 30 years of business expertise in the banking, brokerage, energy, and aerospace industries. He has an extensive history in funding start‐ups, corporate accounting and compliance for both private and publicly traded companies.

CLIF SAYLOR
Independent Director

Clif is an entrepreneur and business owner with a 40+ year record of success. In 1984 he founded Saylor Marketing, Inc. as a full-service flooring solutions provider to agencies of the US federal government and has grown it into one of the preeminent flooring companies in the nation. He has remarkable leadership skills and adept business acumen that have set him apart from among his peers.  Clif is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Business Administration.

Austin McDonald
Independent Director

Austin McDonald has 34+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with extensive management and operations experience in the EU, USA and Asia. Austin’s specialist areas are strategic planning, process design, product development, product commercialization and regulatory compliance. Austin is a named inventor on several issued U.S. and international patents, is a past Adjunct Professor in the master program at Stevens Institute of Technology and a frequent contributor at technical conferences on pharmaceutical process design.

Gavin McMillan

Gavin M. McMillan is a Marketing and Growth Management Executive with over 30 years of experience across telecommunications, FinTech, and information and communications technology (ICT). He has successfully expanded global market growth, positioned brands on six continents, and led teams of 100+ professionals while developing patents that are now foundational to modern communications. Gavin has worked with governments and enterprises worldwide, creating impactful telecommunications strategies and driving sustainability through energy-efficient, cloud-based solutions.

In addition to his executive roles, Gavin provides independent consulting in sales, marketing, business development, and investment fundraising. He has played a key role in mergers, acquisitions, and launching new companies across various industries. His innovation extends into fintech, where he has developed financial technology solutions to support unbanked workers, further demonstrating his commitment to using technology to improve lives globally.

Ray Leon

Ray holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Villanova University. With over 15 years of leadership experience at GE and IBM, Ray has since founded or co-founded three successful start-up companies. His career demonstrates a strong track record of success across roles as a corporate executive, entrepreneur, and business mediator.

Ray has been certified in dispute resolution, including being a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, an American Arbitration Association Neutral, a Certified Spanish Civil Court Mediator, and an Arbitrator for FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority). He brings significant expertise in navigating complex financial and technology issues, utilizing a broad, cross-functional approach to address challenges in both domestic and international contexts.

Known for his strong interpersonal and management skills, Ray is committed to delivering results and consistently exceeds expectations. His dedication and competence enable him to effectively resolve tough problems and deliver meaningful solutions.

Sean Parmenter
Registered Patent Attorney

Sean Parmenter is a seasoned patent prosecution and litigation attorney with 20+ years of experience preparing and prosecuting US and international patents for clients ranging from stealthy Silicon Valley startups to established Fortune 500 companies. Sean helps companies in complex intellectual property matters involving patents, copyright, trademark and trade secrets using unique IP portfolio strategies driven by business ROI and customer-perception criteria.

Sean handles litigation and patent prosecution matters in a diverse array of software, electrical, and mechanical/medical device technologies, which include traditional client/server applications, cloud-based and multi-tenant systems, application development frameworks, AI and machine learning, wired and wireless networking enhancements, computer-generated imagery and animation, image processing hardware and software (including JPEG and MPEG encoding), compiler and operating system design, database optimization and monitoring, encryption and security-related innovations, and electronic design automation of integrated circuits.

Sean is a graduate of Brigham Young University where he earned a BS in Computer Science and later attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law, earning his JD and graduating cum laude. Prior to starting Parmenter Intellectual Property Law PLLC as a patent litigation attorney, Sean's legal career included notable firms such as Thorpe North and Western, Schwegman Lundberg & Woessner, and Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton (formally Townsend, Townsend, and Crew). Before attending law school, Sean worked as a software developer creating document automation solutions for the legal industry.

David Gileff
Attorney, Patent Agent & Engineer

David is a seasoned patent attorney and registered patent agent with a background in electrical and computer engineering. He has extensive experience in patent prosecution before patent offices around the world, as well as vigorous patent defence in post-grant proceedings such as inter partes reviews (IPRs) and ex parte reexaminations.

In addition to patent procurement and defence, David provides strategic support for patent litigation, conducts patent searches, reviews prior art, and performs in-depth technical research. His unique blend of legal expertise and engineering knowledge makes him a valuable asset in navigating complex patent issues. Prior to embarking on his career as an independent patent consultant, David worked for thirteen years at Smart & Biggar, Canada’s leading patent prosecution firm.  David has also worked as a computer engineer in the field of application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) development.

Stephen Melvin, Ph.D.
Patent Agent & Engineer

Dr. Stephen Melvin has a broad range of experience in both computer engineering and intellectual property. He received his Ph.D. at the University of California at Berkeley in the field of high performance microprocessor architecture. Dr. Melvin led a processor architecture team at two startup companies in Silicon Valley designing network processors.

Dr. Melvin has also designed and built numerous micro-controller based embedded systems in the areas of machine vision, voice processing and industrial control. In the intellectual property area, Dr. Melvin has been working for more than 35 years as a consulting and testifying expert in intellectual property licensing and litigation cases. He has acted as a court appointed expert, as an in-house technical expert at the large international law firm and as a Patent Agent prosecuting patents before the USPTO. Dr. Melvin is also an inventor on over 45 patents.

Clay S. Perreault

Clay Perreault is a Canadian-born telecom and computing engineer with over 25 years of global business entrepreneurship who has founded over a dozen companies across North America, Asia, and the Middle East. He is known for being on the leading edge of many technology platforms spanning electronics, encryption, wireless telecoms, and orbital satellite technologies and has over 22 patents. He is a technology evangelist, always looking to leverage new concepts that can improve the safety, security, and health of modern society.

Ongoing projects include orbital satellite platforms, wireless telecommunications, software development, encryption, blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and industrial sensing. Clay’s technology projects are complemented by his extensive experience in the board room, raising capital and successfully bringing companies onto public markets.
